Award-winning singer/songwriter Richard Marx, known for hits as Right here waiting, Satisfied, Hold on to the nights and Don’t mean nothing, will perform an intimate solo show at DeLaMar Theatre. This American pop/softrocker was discovered at 17 by Lionel Richie and started his career as a background singer for musical legends such as Madonna, Whitney Houston and Julio Iglesias. But it seemed that Richard was destined to be in the spotlights himself. He launched a self-titled debut album, which spawned four Top 5 singles. In 2004 he even earned a Grammy for Song of the year, for his role in co-authoring Luther Vandross’ Dance with my father. With his latest album Beautiful goodbye the 55-year old songwriter seems to have taken a new path: the songs are more sensual and ethereal, and the lyrics more adventurous than before. During A solo acoustic evening Richard will sing songs from this latest album, accompanied by his greatest hits.
