Summer Dance Forever

Theatre Forever: Fresh Moves

Together with DeLaMar, hiphop dance festival Summer Dance Forever presents a night with fresh new talent from across Europe! In Power of Recall, Elise Richards and Aleyna Demir explore friendship, play and miscommunication through raw, expressive movement. Majeko’s Chasing Butterflies delves into the struggle between striving and simply being, in a world that demands constant motion. In Mirar, Iron Skulls unravel how perception shapes reality — how what we see is always colored by who we are. And in Jogo de Dentro, Kaê Brown Carvalho and Jerson Diasonama fuse hip hop and capoeira in a journey through their shared cultural roots. Want to know more? Stick around for the Q&A after the show and ask the dancers and choreographers some of your burning questions!

Festival packages are available via the Summer Dance Forever website.

About Elise Richards en Aleyna Demir - Power of Recall
A raw and playful duet exploring friendship, miscommunication, and the rhythms that hold us together. Rooted in hiphop, the piece blends various styles into a language of repetition and transformation. Power of Recall moves between frustration and laughter, vulnerability and connection.

About Majeko - Chasing Butterflies
This performance explores the tension between being and striving. In a world that glorifies productivity, the dancers navigate the space between ambition and presence. Through movement, they embody familiar struggles - self-doubt, pressure, and comparison - and pose a central question: Where is the balance between becoming and simply being? Co-created by the performers, this piece mirrors the human experience, inviting reflection, connection, and the reminder that we’re not alone in this journey.

About Iron Skulls: Mirar
Mirar is a duet that explores the relationship between the observer and the observed, questioning how our perception of others shapes the way we see - and exist in - the world. A gaze is never neutral; it weaves meanings, projects stories, and reshapes reality. It is not a passive act, but one that builds and modifies, a constant transformation in which perception becomes creation. What we see is filtered through experience, emotion, and context -  revealing as much about ourselves as about what’s right before us.

About Kaê Brown Carvalho en Jerson Diasonama: Jogo de Dentro
Jogo de Dentro, literally translated as ‘the inner game’, tells the story of two individuals bound by a sense of predestined connection. Inspired by an Angolan capoeira game, the piece traces an internal journey from innocence to deeper self-awareness. Rooted in Black Lusophone culture from Brazil and Angola, the duo’s artistic expression explores their shared heritage, transporting us into a sensory, dreamlike universe. Memories resurface and color the present moment, as personal narratives and shared legacies intertwine on stage.
