Facilities for people with reduced mobility
Wheelchair accessibility
DeLaMar is barrier-free and accessible to wheelchair users. Only the balconies in the halls are not wheelchair accessible.
Wheelchair spaces are available in both halls. There is space next to each wheelchair space for a carer or fellow visitor.
Wheelchair spaces can only be booked by telephone or email via our customer service. If a show has a second tier, the second-tier rate applies to wheelchair spaces. Is the cost of a wheelchair space a barrier for you? If so, please contact us by email. Together, we will explore what options are available.
Is your wheelchair wider than 65 cm, deeper than 78 cm (including footrests) or taller than 91 cm? Please let us know in advance. That way, we can take this into account when allocating seats.
Visitors with reduced mobility
Do you have difficulty walking? If so, we recommend choosing a seat in the auditorium rather than on the balcony.
In the Wim Sonneveld Hall, row 8 is accessible without steps.
In the Mary Dresselhuys Hall, row 13 is accessible without steps.
The balconies are only accessible via several flights of stairs with handrails. The balconies slope quite steeply and are therefore less suitable for visitors with reduced mobility.

Toilets and lift
There are two wheelchair-accessible toilets in the theater. Arrows on the wall indicate where they are located:
By the main entrance, near the Mary Dresselhuys Hall.
In the Red Foyer, near the Wim Sonneveld Hall.
All foyers are wheelchair-accessible and can be reached by lift.
Walking frame, mobility scooter and loan wheelchair
Walking frames and mobility scooters are not permitted inside the hall. During the show, we will park these just outside the hall. You can transfer to a standard seat.
You can also use a loan wheelchair. DeLaMar has one loan wheelchair available.
Accessibility
The street in front of DeLaMar’s main entrance is car-free.
Do you have a valid European disabled parking card (GPK) or are you travelling using supplementary public transport (AOV)? If so, you can use the drop-off point right by our main entrance. Advance registration is required. Register here
Other visitors cannot be dropped off in front of the theater. The shortest walking route starts at the corner of Marnixstraat and Leidsekade (Google Maps). From there, it is approximately a one- to two-minute walk to the entrance.
Parking
On the map of the City of Amsterdam, you will find a list of disabled parking spaces in the area. The nearest accessible parking spaces are located on Leidsekade, behind DeLaMar. There are three spaces available here. It is approximately a four-minute walk from these spaces to the main entrance.
If you find it difficult to walk this distance but are able to manage a few steps, please contact us. We’d be happy to work with you to find a suitable solution.
Q-Park Europarking has two wheelchair-accessible parking spaces. The car park is about a nine-minute walk from the theater (Google Maps). You can book a discounted parking space via DeLaMar. Book here
There is a cycle parking area for people with disabilities right outside the entrance to DeLaMar.
