Facilities for people with reduced mobility
Accessibility in DeLaMar
The DeLaMar theater building is barrier-free and fully wheelchair accessible (with the exception of the balconies in the halls). Both halls have a number of wheelchair spaces with room for a companion or fellow visitor. There are also two wheelchair-friendly toilets in the building, one at the main entrance (near the Mary Dresselhuys hall) and one in the Red Foyer (near the Wim Sonneveld hall). All foyers are wheelchair accessible and can be reached by lift.
The wheelchair spaces in the hall are situated in the first row. The wheelchair spaces are offered for a second-row price if a second row applies to the performance. Wheelchair spaces can only be reserved via our telephone customer service. If your wheelchair is larger than 65 cm wide, 78 cm deep (incl. footrests) and 91 cm high, we would like to hear this in advance by email, so that this can be taken into account in the hall layout.
We advise visitors with reduced mobility to book seats in the hall (so not on the balcony). The balcony is only accessible via several flights of stairs (with banisters) and slopes quite steeply and is therefore less suitable for people with walking difficulties. For an explanation of the accessibility of our halls, please see the Hall plan page.
A mobility scooter or rollator cannot be taken into the hall; you can transfer to a regular chair or possibly use a loan wheelchair. The mobility scooter or rollator will be placed just outside the hall. We have one loan wheelchair that can be used on request.
Accessibility to DeLaMar
The street in front of the main entrance of DeLaMar has been designated as car-free by the municipality. Visitors with an AOV or Valys pass can be dropped off at the main entrance by carrier RMC. Unfortunately, other visitors cannot be dropped off in front of the theater. The shortest distance to the entrance is the corner of Marnixstraat and Leidsekade (Google Maps). From here it is approximately a 1 to 2 minute walk. Regular taxis can drop visitors off in front of the entrance of Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American (Google Maps). From here it is also approximately a 1 to 2 minute walk.
Q-Park Europarking has two wheelchair-friendly parking spaces. Q-Park Europarking is a 9-minute walk from the theater at Marnixstraat 250 (Google Maps). Reserve your parking space with a discount via the special reservation page on q-park.nl. Reserve here at Q-park
