Diana lives with bipolar disorder, blurring the line between imagination and reality for her family. Her husband Dan (Edwin Jonker) desperately tries to hold everything together, son Gabe is all over the place, and daughter Natalie escapes into pills and perfectionism. You'll find yourself drawn into the lives of a family that seems perfectly ‘normal’ on the surface, but behind closed doors is struggling to stay afloat. Or, as The New York Times put it: ‘Next to Normal is something much more than a feel-good musical: it is a feel-everything musical.’
