The famous American author, humorist and social commentator Fran Lebowitz is coming back to the Netherlands! With a world that feels more and more conflictual and at odds, Fran Lebowitz is a keen observer of all things social, cultural and political. With the upcoming US election, Fran helps explain – with her unique humor and sharp wit – the way the US and the world work or don’t work. Look forward to hearing Fran's unrelenting and uncompromising opinions, perhaps in response to your question! Through both a conversation with the evening's host and questions from the audience, you'll get up close to the icon who is always ready with sharp comments and keen observations delivered with a generous dose of humor. After the talk there will be an opportunity to purchase the book Fran Lebowitz: The Fran Lebowitz Reader and have it signed by Fran Lebowitz herself.

The New York Times has called Lebowitz a modern-day Dorothy Parker. She is best known for her books Metropolitan Life and Social Studies, which were combined into The Fran Lebowitz Reader in 1994. She has been portrayed in two documentaries directed by Martin Scorsese; the HBO documentary Public Speaking (2010) and the Netflix docu-series Pretend It's a City (2021).
